General

  • Carabia is a private marketplace for certified pre-loved cars. We offer users the ability to buy and sell quality used cars in the UAE, directly with one another.
  • Unlike traditional classifieds and marketplaces, Carabia is built around making the buying or selling experience as transparent and efficient as possible. Carabia carrys out user verification and vehicle inspections, a free listing process for sellers, and filters through listings to ensure that only vehicles of the highest quality make it on to our website. Without the conventional middleman or costs associated with pay-to-list models, Carabia ensures both parties get the best price.
  • Carabia is open to individuals looking to buy or sell used cars in the UAE. Unlike other marketplaces or classifieds, we do not accept dealership listings.
  • Buyers can access the site from outside the UAE but should note that they are responsible for organising logistics if they plan on exporting any listing. For Sellers, Carabia only accepts submissions from within the UAE.
  • Simply create an account, browse listings, and either list your car for sale or place an offer on a vehicle you're interested in. To place an offer, you will first need to add a valid payment method.

Buying

  • You can browse our listings by using filters such as make, model, year, mileage, price, and location to find the perfect car.
  • Find a car you like and conduct your due diligence. Click "Buy Now" or ‘Make an Offer’. If the Seller accepts, you will be charged the Carabia Commission. Arrange full payment and transfer directly with the Seller. Complete RTA registration and take ownership of the car.
  • As part of our commitment to ensuring committed Buyers and getting rid of timewasters, all price negotiation takes place via our offer negotiation section on our website. You can Make an Offer on all fixed-price listings. The seller can accept, reject, or counter your offer.
  • At Carabia we strive to find the perfect balance whereby Sellers can list their cars without excessive interaction, and where Buyers have all the information they need to make an informed purchasing decision. We work with an independent, third-party inspection provider – VerifyBuy – to ensure all listed vehicles are presented with as much information as possible. Should you feel the need to organise your own inspection prior to making an offer, you can contact us at [email protected], and we will work with your chosen inspection provider, as well as the Seller to try and make this happen. To protect the anonymity of the Seller until there is a committed Buyer, we do not currently facilitate test drives before an offer is accepted. Once we put you in touch, you will be able to view and test drive the vehicle at the Sellers’ discretion before purchasing and transferring the vehicle.
  • Carabia charges a 2% Carabia Commission based off the final offered price for the vehicle. This is paid by the Buyer on top of the agreed offer price and is payable at the point an offer is accepted.
  • Our fees are capped at a minimum of AED 2000 and at a maximum of AED 10,000 on each listing.
  • Unlike other marketplaces, you will not find any other hidden fees when purchasing a vehicle on Carabia. We truly believe in being fully transparent with our customers, and this is reflected in our commitment to being completely open and honest about our fees!
  • We will put you in touch with the Seller as soon as your offer has been accepted, and the Carabia Commission has been collected. You will then have 48 hours to contact the Seller. Following this contact, you will have 7 days to complete the transaction directly, unless otherwise agreed with the Seller.
  • If you fail to contact the Seller within the specified window, or fail to complete the purchase within the above period, you may lose the right to purchase the vehicle from the Seller at the agreed price and will forfeit the Carabia Commission.
  • You must visit an RTA-approved centre with the Seller to transfer vehicle ownership. For more information on how to safely arrange the transfer of the vehicle please refer to our handover guide.
  • We do not offer refunds on Carabia Commission. Before making an offer, Buyers should conduct their due diligence and make sure they are satisfied before making any commitment.
  • Our Seller vetting and pre-listing inspections ensure that only high-quality vehicles are listed on our website. Whilst we do all that we can to ensure that the vehicle listings are accurate, we encourage all Buyers to conduct their own due diligence before making an offer. We try to provide as much information as possible to allow Buyers make an informed decision.

Selling

  • Create an account and submit vehicle details. Upload high-quality photos, vehicle documents and a description. Set a price. Carabia will verify your listing, arrange a mobile inspection and enhance your listing information. Review your listing and go live!
  • The car must be registered in the UAE belonging to the Seller and free of outstanding fines or loans. We will also review each vehicle to make sure it’s the right fit for our website.
  • For ‘Buy Now’ listings, buyers can purchase at the listed price or make offers, which can be accepted, rejected or counteroffered, all from within the Seller portal. You can set your price when you submit your vehicle with us, and can change it at any point by contacting us.
  • Yes, you can make changes to your vehicle’s description, pictures and price even after it goes live. To protect the authenticity of listings, all changes made after a vehicle is live will need to be approved. Should you wish to make any amendments, please get in touch with a member of our team!
  • No, exclusive listing is required. If you wish to list elsewhere, you must remove your car from our Website immediately by contacting a member of the Carabia team. You may risk account termination and future bans if you fail to adhere to our policies, set out in our User Agreement.
  • For 'Buy Now' listings, you can accept, reject or counter offers. Once you accept an offer, or a counteroffer is accepted by a Buyer, you will receive further information on how to transfer the vehicle ownership to the Buyer as well as how best to arrange payment. We recommend you review all information on completing the purchase to ensure a smooth and safe transaction.
  • Buyers who back out of a sale at the last minute will lose their commission and may lose access to their account. In the rare event it may happen, Sellers can relist their car on our platform but face no obligation to do so. We may also be able to work with Sellers to find previously interested Buyers.
  • You must visit an RTA-approved centre with the Buyer to transfer vehicle ownership. For more information on how to transfer the ownership of your vehicle safely, please refer to our handover guide.
  • Nothing. Selling on Carabia is completely free for sellers. There are absolutely no hidden fees when it comes to selling with us.

Fees, Payment & Financing

  • Carabia charges a 2% Carabia Commission based off the final offered price for the vehicle. This is paid by the Buyer on top of the agreed offer price and is payable at the point an offer is accepted. Our fees are capped at a minimum of AED 2000 and a maximum of AED 10,000 on each listing.
  • The Carabia Commission is paid by the Buyer at the point an offer, or a counteroffer is accepted. Once you submit an offer using the ‘Make an Offer’ feature, your offer will remain valid until the Seller accepts, rejects or makes a counteroffer, or for 24-hours, whichever happens sooner. In order to ensure committed Buyers, once an offer is placed, you are unable to withdraw it, so make sure you are happy before placing offers on any listings.
  • No, buyers and sellers must complete the payment directly with one another. We advise both parties to ensure they have conducted all due diligence and that they follow steps to ensure the exchange of payment is conducted in a safe and reasonable manner.
  • We do not currently offer any financing options so we advise you to contact your bank should you wish to purchase a car using finance. Each listing is displayed with an estimated monthly repayment price which can be used as a guide for those looking to purchase through finance. Please note that this price is indicative only, and Buyers should ensure they arrange finance before making any offers.

Shipping & Delivery

  • We do not currently offer shipping so we advise you to contact a logistics partner should you wish to export a vehicle after your purchase. Buyers should ensure they arrange shipping before making any offers.

Account, Security & Support

  • As part of our commitment to protecting both parties, we collect and store copies of the Emirates IDs of Sellers and use these to cross reference with the vehicle registration documents. These will remain internal and confidential, and will be deleted once the Seller no longer has their vehicle listed with us.
